In the Swiss Alps during the Middle Age, a young winemaker creates the best wine in the world. When Death itself appears to taste his wine, he discovers that his beloved is the next victim on Death's list. He manages to trick and imprison Death in a small barrel, unaware of the consequences for the natural order of things.
